The L and R buttons activate special states: press down plus L to enter Berserk mode, losing FS Armor but dealing more damage, necessary for using each fighter's Ultimate Attack. Press R to activate thrusters, sending your fighter skyward; the gauge at the bottom shows remaining thruster power. Individual special moves are listed in the move list section.
